ARIZONA BANK & TRUST INSTALLS A 3rd ACTIVE SHADE® SYSTEM

Gilbert, AZ, — Arizona Bank & Trust will install an Active Shade® solar canopy system for its Gilbert Branch, located at 4117 South Gilbert Road. The 120-solar module installation will generate more than 82 megawatt hours (MWh) of clean renewable energy, providing 73% of the annual energy needs for the Gilbert Branch. As shade is a precious resource in the Sonoran Desert climate, Arizona Bank & Trust’s customers and staff will be able to enjoy 15 covered spaces. The project produces enough clean energy to power 7 typical single-family homes for a year, while the project’s environmental benefit is equal to the amount of carbon sequestered by 76 acres of U.S. forests per year.
“This is our third solar project, and we continue to embrace future technologies. We are realizing the benefits of solar shade canopy installations at our banking centers and endeavor to deploy them where we can,” explains Bill Callahan, Arizona Bank & Trust President, and CEO. “To continue serving our customers well into the future, we are happy to be lowering our carbon footprint, having energy-efficient operations, and investing in electric vehicle charging stations.”

The Active Shade® Arizona-based project team includes Oculus Studio as the architect and designer with engineering provided by Caruso Turley Scott and Blue Oak Energy. The project construction team includes Resolute Performance Iron, Inc. and K2 Electric Newco, LLC. The project is expected to be complete before Fall 2021.
